Most of the major problems identified in thermoforming can be traced back to inadequate process control. Improper sheet temperature at the time of forming is a primary source of problems. Poor draw-down ratio and insufficient cooling are also typical causes.
The following section tackles some of the more common problems associated with the thermoforming process along with the suggested courses of action to correct or eliminate the processing problem. The information should be used for guidance purposes only.
