Athlone Extrusions launches new DUROGLOSS range
Athlone Extrusions has launched its new DUROGLOSS range for the furniture industry. This co-extruded ABS/PMMA sheet has been developed by the innovative and R&D division specifically for the furniture industry in which its inherent high gloss and scratch resistance is complemented by our renowned colour matching ability. Commenting on this range, Commercial Director Jackie Browne "We believe that our range will enhance the appearance and performance of the finished products and give choice and competitiveness to this sector."

New Extrusion Line Begins Production in Athlone
A new multi-purpose extrusion line was unveiled by the company in late November ‘09. Kenny O’Brien, General Manager, commented that the line has been brought on stream mainly to increase the company’s flexibility in dealing with a variety of materials from the current product portfolio. In addition the line will offer improved capability in extruding other plastics, particularly ASA capped ABS sheet, but also PC/ABS alloys as well. The company intends to run engineering thermoplastics on the new line for the majority of the time but, if necessary, the line can switch to mainstream styrenic products to satisfy demand.
